1940 Ford Pickup

Being custom restored with 650HP 408ir Engine, automatic transmission. Progress images are in this album. The Most Handsome Pickup Ever Made, the 1940 Ford light trucks were a return to ‘car styling’ by the Ford Motor company. After three years of a distinctive ‘big truck’ look, Ford returned to a more stylish and car-like appearance. There were also subtle changes in the cab and windshield design. The trucks no longer sported the ‘V-8’ insignia, since four and six-cylinder engines were also offered in 1940. This 40 was customized with a removable hard-top, originally built by Rand Grubb, who built the tank hot rod for Jay Leno.
